Parks, gardens, squares, ... There are so many green spaces to discover in Tournai!



The charm of the town owes a lot to its harmonious combination of heritage and nature. Few towns pride themselves in possessing, like Tournai, so many spaces where trees grow. Such areas can be found everywhere in the town, disseminated hither and tither. The largest park in the town is the park known as Parc de Marvis, facing the Les Bastions shopping centre. Many species can be found there, at the foot of medieval remains from the 13th Century. Facing the train station is Parc Crombez, which was named after a bourgmestre (mayor). Beyond that is the Parc de la Tour Henri VIII. Facing the law courts Square Marie-Louise will come as a surprise to you. The Choiseul Seminary, the provincial horticulture school, Square Léopold, Square Rogier – these are just some of the other locations where vegetation combines harmoniously with the very rich architecture of our town.
